The truly amazing thing about the Internet is that you can take your passions, share them with the world, and while at the same time make a profit from it. Every one knows something about something. Take what you know and turn that in to your very own unique online business that you can be proud off and profit from for years to come.

How do we do this you ask? Well, honestly we need to make list. Take some time and write down your Passions, Hobbies, Interests, and Skills. We are going to take that list, break it down and turn those topics in to a business. Let me show you an example of my short list.

Fishing, Writing, Restaurant Management Hiking, Computers, Business management Painting, Birds, Cooking

These are a few of my passions and hobbies; of course yours will be different. Don't neglect your list include every thing that you have an interest in. If you have an interest in joggling write it down. You might be surprised on how many people really have an interest in it. The idea is to take your topic and turn it into a rich Theme based website that will attract visitors and rank well in the search engines.Now we have to take our topics and break them down into smaller pieces. These will be our niche topics. Let us use Fishing for our example. Fishing is a very broad topic. So lets break it down into smaller niches

Fishing Tackle, Fishing lures, Fishing poles Fresh water fishing, deep-sea fishing, Fly fishing Fly fishing rods, River Fly-fishing, Fly-fishing for trout

As you can see there are many different niches for Fishing, and there are many more. Selecting your niche topic is important for targeting your customer's base. Basically your niche topic will ultimately decide the content and layout of your website. Now we have to pick a niche topic. Lets use River fly-fishing. This niche is specific and will make it a lot easier to promote our website later on.

The next step is to determine if there is a good interest in our niche topic. We will use a simple free tool from Google its called Google key word tool. All we do is type in our topic into the tool and we will find out how many searches where don on that topic. What we find is that there is 60,500 searches performed each month on River fly-fishing. There seams to be a good demand for information on this niche topic.

This is the starting point for developing your own unique online business. Buy selecting your niche topic you now have a good foundation on which you can create a profitable business. There is a lot more to do and it would be my pleasure to take you through the steps of creating your business.

The really great thing about the Internet is that anyone can create a business and make money from it. The Internet Lets you build an online business about anything you want. You can take your passions talents work experience and skills and turn them in to a profitable online business. So next question is how do we accomplish this great task?

It’s a lot easer than you think. Please keep in mind I am talking about creating a real business. I am Anti Get Rich Quick Programs. The very first thing we have to do in building an online business is to figure out what our business is about. If you have an idea or product you are one step a head of this article. Everyone has a skill hobby or work experience. Lets make a simple list of these topics. I will use a small list to give you an idea.

Fishing, Guitar, Hiking, Restaurant. The actually list will probably be much bigger. Now we have to take this list and break these areas done into niche topics. The topics listed here are very broad so we need to focus in on some subcategories or niches. Lets take fishing as an example. This is what we do. River fishing, trout Fishing, Deep-sea fishing. Fly Fishing. These topics are a little more targeted. But lets break it down a little further. New York fly Fishing, Deep sea fishing in Maine, Best trout fishing in NY Rivers. You get the idea.

What we have done is take our Topic of interest and break it down into subcategories or Niches. These subcategories will become our target market or key words. The key word Phrases that we just came up with will be a foundation on witch we can begin to build our online business. Sounds crazy I Know. But in order to build a business online we have to do things a little back word. Finding your target market is the first step. Best trout fishing in NY Rivers is your target market.

E-mail Marketing Test

As Affiliate marketers we should always be looking to generate new leads for our list. Simply having an opt in sign up form just isn’t enough. So what other options do we have? We could add a pop up to our website asking for name and email address. We could sweeten the deal by adding a free report or free ebook for signing up.

I find that those pop ups can be annoying to the visitor. I know how I feel about them when I am looking for information and they pop up on me. I generally close them out or leave the website. Recently I decided to a simple test in a traffic exchange program. I never have been a real fan of traffic exchanges for simple reason you really don’t quality hits. But a lot of people surf those exchanges on a daily basis. So I wanted to see if I could capture some of there email addresses.

This is what I did. I created a single page that would be submitted and rotated through out the surfing exchange for people to see. I bought 1000 hits for six dollars. I will admit I wasn’t expecting any hits at all. I was quite surprised with the results. I split the hits up over 5 days giving 200 hits a day to my WebPages. On the web page was a simple sign up form with a free offer for down load. I offered a free Affiliate masters course for signing up.

On the first day I received two sign ups. That was about what I expected. The second day I received 10 more. I was surprised. At the end of the 5 days I had a total of 34 sign ups. For the cost of six dollars I generated 34 interested additions to my email list. I need to keep testing a little more to see if these sign ups will be active or just wanted the free down load. Time will tell on this.

In order to be successful as an affiliate marketer we need to find and test new ways of building our list. We should not rely on the old ways of hoping some will sign up. If they do not come to us we need to go to them and this is one of doing that. Remember this was just a test and hopefully it will have been a good one.

Let the merchant do the selling. Your goal is to pre sell. Good quality content and information is what your visitor will be looking for. Think about the last time you search for something. How many different Websites did you go through before you found the answer you where looking for. Probably 5 to 10. You probably stopped on the one with the best readily available no selling information.

You didn’t click and banners and you closed out all the sales pages. I bet I am correct. All businesses including Affiliate marketing require time and effort. The question is how to spend that time wisely. The answer is simple; focus on quality content and information with key words for search engines. The more quality rich information you have on your website the higher you will be ranked and the more quality visitors you will receive.

One last senerio. Johnny spent 2 hours a day for one month in a traffic service trying promote his business. He generated for his efforts 2000 hits. He also generated 0$ in sales. Kathy spent 2 hours a day writing articles and blog post with good quality content and information. She generated 500 hits for his efferts. She also generated 20 sales. You can see my point.

On Friday Sept 18 Google unveils new version of the double click exchange.This will be the first majer over hall of the system since Google bought our double click in march of 2008.

With this new system Google will for the first time combined the double click exchange with its own adwords and absence that will drastically increase the amount of people who can use the system.

According to Google 40 % of the add inventory goes unsold to to the lack of efficientcy that publishers have to sell the slots.They want to make display advertising open to as many people as posible.The new doubleclick version is said to have new tools that can specific target customers and track the results.

This could make Google the top exchanger for display advertising on the internet.Ad exchanges play a big role in providing a forum on witch publishers can sell unsold ad space on there web sites to the highest bidder.
